Color of the Seasons Poem

The Colors of Autumn
by Ann

Autumn is red
like a leaf changing colors from green
like a crisp, delicious apple waiting to be picked
like my oversized jacket keeping me warm on the cool nights

Autumn is yellow
like the rectangle hay bales neatly lined up in the fields
like the funny scarecrow decorating my neighbors yard
like the warm apple pie straight from the oven

Autumn is orange
like the big pumpkins in the patches at the farm
like the steaming sweet potato and chipotle soup in my bowl
like the fallen leaves on the ground dancing with the wind

Autumn is Colorful
by Kaylee

Autumn is Red
like crunchy colorful leaves dancing to the breeze, crisp apples
crunching in my mouth with sugar oh so sweet, and steamy tasty
soup swirling in my bowl with veggies floating at the top.

Autumn is Orange
like glowing jack-o-lanterns at the doorsteps of Halloween fun,
tasty moist pumpkin pie in my tummy, and beautiful
leaves making a colorful show in the sky.

Autumn is Brown
like feasts with sweet juicy stuffed turkey, the dry
leaves making a cracking sound when I jump in, and the
frosty ground with icy barriers preventing growth of plants.

Autumn is Yellow
like lonely scarecrows wishing for friends to play and prance
with during the long winter ahead, falling leaves
that dance as gracefully as ballerinas twirling in the air, and different shaped,
 sized, colorful, textured gourds.

Autumn Colors
By Rachel

Autumn is Orange
like the big round pumpkins in the pumpkin patch,
like the sweet tasting treat of candy corn,
like sweet potatoes with a little brown sugar and marshmallows.

Autumn is Yellow
like the school bus that Nathan takes to school,,
like pencils that we use for writing and drawing,
like yummy eggnog served at Thanksgiving.

Autumn is Red
like the leaves that change colors before falling to the ground,
like the crunchy delicious apples growing in the orchard,
like my ladybug costume that's red with black spots.
